Oak Lane was founded in 1972 by a group of working parents from the Pleasantville Cottage School. We began as a community of families and staff working together to create the best environment for the children. In 1982, Oak Lane was able to purchase our current home in Chappaqua. The security of owning our home along with our philosophy of providing an enriching environment for the children make Oak Lane an ideal childcare center for your child.
Our Licensing
Oak Lane is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. It was one of the first centers in Westchester to be accredited by the national Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This distinction is only awarded to programs who voluntarily undergo a comprehensive process of self-study and professional review. We are proud to announce that in January 2007 we were among the first centers in the United States to re-accredit under NAEYC's newly redesigned accreditation system.
Board of Directors
The Oak Lane board is composed of parents of past and present Oak Lane children and community residents. We invite parents to address the Board with any ideas or issues they may have.
