Assistant Teacher for Immediate Hire

At Oak Lane Child Care Center in Chappaqua our longstanding team of creative and responsible educators care for 50+ children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old in four classrooms. As a year-round center, we provide full day, high quality care in a home-like setting with a wonderful large playground and garden.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider
• Strong understanding of child development
• Patient, kind, and nurturing
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• First aid/CPR certified

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth
• Plan games and activities that are developmentally appropriate
• Design a daily and weekly schedule
• Provide basic care and caregiving activities
• Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones
• Communicate with parents and update them on their children’s activities
